Inflammation Programs

Despite recent progress in the development of drugs for autoimmune/inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, psoriasis and organ transplant, these diseases remain underserved by currently available agents. Portola’s broad chemistry capability has led to the discovery of potent, oral specific inhibitors of Spleen Tyrosine Kinase (Syk) and Janus Kinase (JAK), as well as dual inhibitors of Syk and JAK. Portola’s goal is to develop best-in-class oral, anti-inflammatory agents that will significantly improve patient care.
