Portola, in collaboration with Biogen Idec, is developing PRT062607, which has been shown to be a highly potent and specific oral inhibitor of Syk in a broad panel of in vitro kinase and cellular assays and is currently in Phase 1 studies. Results of the studies to date suggest the compound is well tolerated and has a profile suitable for once-daily dosing.

Portola, in partnership with Novartis is developing elinogrel, a direct-acting, competitive and reversible i.v. and oral P2Y₁₂ ADP receptor antagonist. Elinogrel has potential best-in-class features to address the global multi-billion hospital, specialty, and chronic care antiplatelet market.
