College Internships

College Internships
An internship with Portola Pharmaceuticals is an opportunity to be part of an organization helping patients through the innovative field of biotechnology. Whether your passion is science and research or more business focused, this is more than just a summer job, it is the chance to develop your skill sets by working with accomplished professionals and learn what it takes to keep our organization thriving!

If you are a current college student with a passion for learning and a curiosity for how we conduct our research, develop our pipeline or maintain our operations, an internship with us is a great start!

The Experience
Over a twelve-week period, our interns gain hands-on experience and learn what it takes to build a growing biopharmaceutical company. Internships are a rewarding experience for students and their mentors alike!

“My experience as a biology intern at Portola this summer enriched my academic and personal growth by leagues. I developed several skills here that I know will set me apart from other pre-professionals, and assist me along my career path. I tackled relevant and challenging questions in the field of lymphoma research, participated in cutting edge science, as well as designed my own experiments. Working with the biology staff this summer has been an experience I will never forget!”

“Working at Portola for the summer gave me so much knowledge, not only in the field of Human Resources, but overall how a small (but rapidly growing) company in the pharmaceutical industry is run. The dedication, excitement and motivation in the employees at Portola made my learning experience and work that much more positive and rewarding!”
