Portola is discovering and developing novel therapeutics to meet patient needs in cardiovascular, inflammation, and oncology indications.

We have two compounds in Phase II clinical development that have been specifically designed with best-in-class properties. Betrixaban, our oral, once-daily, Factor Xa inhibitor anticoagulant and elinogrel, our i.v. and oral antiplatelet agent that is a direct-acting (not a prodrug), reversible P2Y12 ADP receptor antagonist. Both compounds have the potential to meet significant unmet patient needs in the growing multi-billion dollar thrombosis markets.

We also have a robust preclinical pipeline leveraging our in-house research and development expertise. We have a FXa inhibitor antidote in development to address potential bleeding issues from use of a FXa inhibitor, a Syk and JAK inhibitor program focused on compounds to treat rheumatoid arthritis and certain cancers, and an aspirin replacement therapy for aspirin intolerant patients.
