Portola's partnered programs in Phase 2 clinical trials are: 1) betrixaban, an oral, once-daily Factor Xa inhibitor being developed for stroke prevention in patients with atrial fibrillation (SPAF) and for prevention of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in various patient populations, and 2) elinogrel, an oral and i.v. P2Y₁₂ADP receptor antagonist with an immediate onset of action and predictable reversibility that is being developed for patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). These drug candidates could potentially advance patient care in the multi-billion dollar antithrombotic market. Portola also has a robust drug discovery effort underway targeting opportunities in thrombosis and inflammation.
